Reindeer Headband
You know those people that put reindeer antlers on their cars? I don't get it. Now, on your animals? Yes, please. I made these reindeer antlers on a whim and now I can't stop putting them on my dogs' heads. It's funny every time! Plus, Mia (who posed for this post) is the perfect color! She reminds me of Santa's Little Helper from The Simpsons. Anyway, if you would like to learn how to make these antlers that you can put on your pets (or your own human head I guess) then click the read more!
Download link for the stencil soon! I promise!!
There are multiple options for the antlers. I decided I wanted to be able to bend my antlers so I used craft wire. If you want something easier, you could cut a piece of cardboard from the stencil and just glue your felt to it. If you want something even easier than that, you could use stiffened felt and just glue that to the headband.
Sew the two pieces of felt together around the wire. I stitched to about where you see in the photo above and then put the wire through it and finished, leaving a small hole. Then I stuffed the antlers with polyfill stuffing and closed up the hole. Stuffing is totally optional, but recommended if you go the wire route like I did.
I decided I wanted a lighter color for the insides of my ears, so I just cut a smaller ear shape. I didn't even glue them together, just stitched both edges to the headband.
